What is copyright infringement?

Copyright infringement is the unauthorized use of copyrighted material in a manner that violates one of the copyright owner's exclusive rights, such as the right to reproduce or perform the copyrighted work, or to make derivative works.

Proving copyright infringement?

To prove copyright infringement, first you must prove that you have a valid copyright; then, prove that the work was copied; and lastly, prove that the infringer took a protected expression of your work.

I think someone infringed on my copyright work, do I need to contact a lawyer?

Our intellectual property attorneys/lawyers will assist you with any copyright infringement matter. If you have a case of copyright infringement, contact our lawyers so that we may help you protect and enforce your copyrighted works.

In addition to enforcing copyrights, we defend copyright infringement allegations. In a copyright claim, your damages may include the profits that you have lost as a result of an infringer's activity or statutory damages imposed by a judge or jury. In addition, a court may also award you your reasonable attorneys' fees. We will aggressively pursue your claims to recover maximum compensation for your losses resulting from a copyright infringement.

We can help you enforce computer code copyrights; literature and music copyrights; visual copyrights for architects, advertising agencies or other creative enterprises; royalty agreements; and breach of licensing agreements.
